For over 800 years the newly elected Lord Mayor of London has made their way from the City to distant Westminster to swear loyalty to the Crown. The first outside event ever to be shown live on television and still the oldest civic procession in the world.
The 2017 AA procession featured both modern and heritage vehicles ranging from the 1904 Renault AAI to the 1950s BSA M20 Motorcycle and sidecar combination, 1980 BMW R80 and 1990s Honda Pan European patrol motorbikes. The AA3 flat-bed recovery vehicle displayed a World War 1 Roll of Honor, all followed by AA staff who are currently serving or have previously served in the military.
